Terms of Service
Last Updated: April 2026
Mosaic Studio is a service provided by Deyick Ventures Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using this website, or by placing an order for a product, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the service. These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy & Security Policy, which explains how we collect and use your personal data.
1. The Mosaic Studio Service
Mosaic Studio is a high-performance, browser-based collage creator. To ensure maximum privacy and speed, all image processing, AI-powered layout calculation, and face detection are performed locally on your device. Your photos are not transmitted to our servers during the design process. Artwork is only uploaded to our secure cloud storage when you proceed to checkout to generate your final print-ready file.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use this service. If you are using the service on behalf of a business or organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
3. Pricing & Availability
The Mosaic Studio editor is free to use. A paid Pro tier with advanced features may be introduced in the future; we will provide reasonable advance notice before any currently free features become paid. We make no commitments regarding uptime or availability, and features may change over time.
4. CRITICAL NOTICE: How Your Work is Saved
Mosaic Studio does not use user accounts. Your in-progress collage is saved only in your browser's local database (IndexedDB and Local Storage).
- ·Permanent Data Loss: If you clear your browser cache, use Incognito / Private Browsing mode, or switch to a different device or browser, your in-progress work will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
- ·No Server Backups: We do not store in-progress collage sessions on our servers. We cannot recover work lost due to browser settings, device failure, or cache clearing.
5. Your Content & Intellectual Property
You retain full ownership and copyright in all photos you upload. By placing a print order, you grant Deyick Ventures Ltd a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce your submitted artwork solely for the purpose of fulfilling that order. This licence terminates upon fulfilment of the order.
- ·Ownership Warranty: You warrant that you own, or hold a valid licence for, all photos you submit. If your photos were taken by a professional photographer, you warrant that you hold a valid print release or written permission from that photographer to reproduce the images in a physical print product.
- ·No Infringing Content: You warrant that your submitted artwork does not infringe the copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights of any third party.
- ·Right to Refuse: We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order that we reasonably believe infringes third-party rights or violates these Terms, without liability to you.
6. Prohibited Uses
You may not use Mosaic Studio to:
- ·Process or reproduce photos of others without their knowledge or consent.
- ·Submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or that infringes any third-party intellectual property rights.
- ·Reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code or underlying algorithms of the service.
- ·Circumvent any access controls or security measures on the service.
- ·Use automated tools to interact with the service in a manner not intended for human users.
7. Shopify Checkout & Shipping
We use the Shopify Storefront API to provide a secure, native checkout experience.
- ·Secure Checkout: All payment details are handled by Shopify, a PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant payment processor. Mosaic Studio never stores your credit card details.
- ·Pricing & Tax: The total price shown at the final stage of Shopify's checkout is the amount you will pay. Applicable taxes are calculated by Shopify at checkout based on your location and current tax rules.
- ·Shipping: Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your delivery address and product dimensions.
- ·Customs & Duties: Gelato's local-first production network is designed to reduce the likelihood of cross-border customs charges. However, we cannot guarantee this in all jurisdictions, and the buyer is responsible for any import duties or local taxes that may apply.
8. Fulfilment via the Gelato Network
Once your order is placed, Shopify automatically routes it to our global print partner, Gelato.
- ·Local Production: Gelato operates in over 130 countries. Your order is assigned to the production hub nearest to your delivery address to ensure fast delivery and a lower carbon footprint.
- ·Delivery Estimates: Estimated delivery times shown at checkout are indicative only. We are not liable for delays caused by Gelato, carriers, or circumstances outside our control.
- ·Title and Risk: Title and risk in the goods pass to you upon dispatch from the production facility.
9. Returns & Quality Guarantee
These Terms do not affect your statutory rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 or equivalent consumer protection legislation applicable in your country of residence.
- ·Custom-Made Exemption: As all products are manufactured to your bespoke specification, they are exempt from the standard 14-day right of withdrawal for "change of mind" returns under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
- ·Manufacturing Defects: If your order arrives with a manufacturing defect or is damaged in transit, we will replace or refund the item. Please contact info@mosaicstudio.app within 14 days of delivery with your order number and photographic evidence of the defect.
- ·Colour Variation: You accept that minor colour variations between your screen (which displays in RGB) and the physical printed product (which is produced in CMYK) are inherent to the printing process and do not constitute a defect.
10. Intellectual Property — Mosaic Studio
All intellectual property in the Mosaic Studio website, application, branding, algorithms, and software belongs to Deyick Ventures Ltd or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, trade names, logos, or other proprietary materials.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Deyick Ventures Ltd's total aggregate liability to you — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise — shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total amount you paid for the specific order giving rise to the claim; or (b) £100.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for: (i) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (ii) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (iii) any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including your statutory rights as a consumer under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Deyick Ventures Ltd and its officers, directors, and employees from and against any claims, damages, losses, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the service; (b) your submitted content; (c) your breach of these Terms; or (d) your infringement of any third-party rights.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a prominent notice on the website before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the service after the effective date of any updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
14. Availability and Modifications
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice. If we permanently discontinue the service, we will provide reasonable advance notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms. If you are a consumer resident in another jurisdiction, you may also have the benefit of mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence, which these Terms do not override.
