As many as you like — Mosaic Studio is built to be limitless. There is no fixed cap baked into the app; the only real ceiling is the device you are using. A modern laptop or desktop will happily chew through scores of high-resolution photos in a single session, while older phones or tablets will start to slow down sooner. Either way, you will always be able to finish your collage.
Mosaic Studio runs entirely in your browser — every photo is decoded, downscaled, and arranged on your own machine, with nothing sent to a server while you design. That means we are not the ones setting the limit; your device is. We deliberately do not enforce a fixed cap because the right number of photos for a wedding wall is wildly different from the right number for an anniversary print, and we did not want to box anyone in. Use as many as your device can comfortably handle.
Because every photo is processed on your own machine, the more memory and processing power your device has, the smoother things feel. If you are hitting a wall on an older phone, try opening Mosaic Studio on a laptop or desktop instead. Anything from the last few years with 8GB+ of RAM will handle a large collage without breaking a sweat — a recent MacBook, an iPad Pro, or a modern Windows laptop are all great choices for big sessions. As a rule of thumb: phones are great for small collages and quick edits, laptops and desktops are where the truly large pieces come together.

Yes. Mosaic Studio uses AI to detect faces and focal points in every photo, then automatically generates a unique layout that keeps the important parts of each image visible. No two collages look the same. You can also adjust spacing, borders, rounded corners, and other details yourself.
Yes. Your photos stay on your device the entire time you are designing your collage — nothing is uploaded to any server during that stage. When you choose to order a print, only the finished collage artwork is sent to our print fulfilment partner.
